Creating a Project Draft

Creating a project draft is the first step in planning out a project. This article will show you how to set in place fundamental information such as customer details, project documents and insurance certificate of currencies. This will ensure the project is set up and ready to send your customer a quote and begin planning out work.

Details

  1. Click mceclip0.png from the Side Menu
  2. Click mceclip1.png in the top right corner. This will open the New Project Quote page.

  1. Click mceclip3.png to enter a project name
  2. Click mceclip4.png to enter a project description

 

Customer Details

  1. Click mceclip5.png to search for and add a customer to the project

Tip: Search for mceclip6.png and fill out the required fields If you can’t find the right customer, or need to add a new customer. Learn more about creating new customers here.

Tip: Only a single customer can be assigned to a Project

 

Project Documents

  1. Click mceclip8.png to open the File Explorer Box
  2. Locate your file, and click

Tip: Click and drag a file from an open folder and drop it onto the  icon to attach it as well.

  1. Click mceclip12.png under mceclip10.png to attach the file to a quote. mceclip14.png indicates the file will be attached to the quote
  2. Click mceclip12.png under mceclip11.png to attach the file to an invoice. mceclip14.png indicates the file will be attached to the invoice
  3. Repeat steps 6 to 9 as required for all documents that need to be attached

 

Notes

  1. Click mceclip17.png to enter notes
  2. Click mceclip18.pngTo attach files to the note
  3. Click mceclip19.png if you want the note to appear on the invoice
  4. Click mceclip20.png if you want the note to appear on the quote
  5. Click mceclip21.png to add the note to the project
  6. The note will be displayed in the list below

  1. Click mceclip26.png under mceclip28.png to attach the file to a quote. mceclip23.png indicates the file will be attached to the quote
  2. Click mceclip26.png under mceclip29.png to attach the file to an invoice. mceclip23.png indicates the file will be attached to the invoice
  3. Click mceclip30.png to delete the note

 

Insurance

Tip: Certificates of Currency that are marked to attach to jobs automatically will already be attachedIf there are no Certificates of Currency available to choose, you will see  

  1. Click the drop-down under mceclip37.png to choose an insurance policy

 

  1. Click mceclip38.png to add the insurance Certificate of Currency to the project

  1. Click mceclip32.png under mceclip31.png to attach the Certificate of Currency to a quote. mceclip23.png indicates the file will be attached to the quote
  2. Click mceclip30.png to delete the Certificate of Currency from the Project 

 

Quote Expiry

Tip: The Quote Expiry fields will default to the Quote expiry values set up previously in the My Business menu of Telstra Trades Assist. Learn more about setting up default quote expiry times here.

  1. Click the field under mceclip33.png and enter a value
  2. Click the drop-down under to set an expiry period for the quote

Saving the Project

  1. Click mceclip35.png to save the Project as a draft. It will now be visible in Projects
