Editing and Managing an Insurance Policy

Certificates of Currency need to be renewed or replaced on a regular, often annual, basis. This article shows you how to edit or remove an existing insurance Certificate of Currency within the Admin Console.

Editing an Insurance Policy

  1. Click icon1.png in the top right corner of the Admin Console
  2. Click mybusiness.png (only visible to the business owner/primary Telstra Trades Assist account holder)
  3. Click insurance.png

  1. Click icon2.png for the policy you wish to update

  1. Adjust any information as necessary
  2. Click Done.png to save the new information to your policy
  3. Click Save.png to save all of the changes to your account.  If you do not click Save, the policy will not be stored

Tip: You can also click no.png to remove the policy, and then create a new policy as necessary.

 

Policy Expiration Notification

Telstra Trades Assist will remind you to renew your insurance before it’s due to expire. When your policy is within 28 days of expiration Telstra Trades Assist has a few ways of notifying you.

Notifications in the Admin Console

The first is within Notifications in the top right corner of the Admin Console shown as a bell-shaped icon. icon3.png  

  1. Click notifications to show areas of your business that require your attention

  1. Click the insurance renewal/expiry notification message to go to the main Notifications screen

  1. You will be taken to the insurance section of My Business Profile
  2. The expiring policy will be highlighted in red

Tip: Only the Business Owner/Primary account can access the My Business Profile.  Global admins will see the notification, and will need to work with the account holder to correct the issue.

 

Policy Card

The second method is on the policy card.  When you view your policies within Insurance of My Business Profile you will see the following flag next to the expiration date.

Within 28 days

Past date

Renewing an Insurance Policy

Tip: If you are insured with AAMI or GIO, you will have the option , and you will be directed to their respective websites. If you are with non-Suncorp insurance partners, you will see either a notification advising you to contact your broker, or , which will direct you to Telstra Trades Assist insurance partners. 

 

  1. Click icon2.png for the policy you wish to update or edit
  2. Make any necessary changes, such as changing the expiration date to the new date
  3. Drag a new Certificate of Currency (if necessary) into the grey space to update the copy on file
  4. Click Done.png to save the new information to your policy
  5. Click Save.png to save all of the changes to your account.  If you do not click Save, the policy will not be stored.

Tip:  Clicking Actioned.png in the Notifications section will briefly clear the notification, but if the policy information has not been updated, this alert will return.
