Getting Started - New Worker

Welcome to Telstra Trades Assist. In six easy steps you can manage the way you work with one automated tool.

 

Getting started

You're joining your team's Telstra Trades Assist account as a ‘worker’ where you'll be able to keep on top of your daily jobs, see what’s in your calendar and close out your jobs all from your iPhone or iPad.

 

Step 1 – Activating your account

You will have received an email inviting you to join Telstra Trades Assist. This email is important as it contains a link to activate your account and set your password.

We recommend you complete this step on a computer.

Open your email account and look for an email from Telstra Trades Assist.

Click  to set a password



You’ll see a screen asking you to set a new password. Try to make this memorable, but not too easy to guess. You’ll be keeping track of a lot of important and private customer and job information in the app, so you’ll want to keep it safe.

This password needs to be at least eight characters long, with at least one uppercase and lowercase letter and a number. Don’t worry though, you won’t need to enter it every time you use the app, we’ll show you a quick way to log in soon.

 

Once you’ve set this password, you’ll be able to log in to Telstra Trades Assist on your iPhone or iPad.

 

Step 2 – Download the Trades Assist app 

Go to the App Store on your iPhone or iPad and search for Telstra Trades Assist

 

If this is your first time downloading Telstra Trades Assist, tap on “Get”, where you may be asked for your Apple ID password or Touch ID if your device has Touch ID enabled.

If you’ve downloaded it before on this or another device, you’ll see a  icon. Go ahead and tap the icon download it again.

The app will download and you’ll see the Telstra Trades Assist App icon installed on your device.

 

Step 3 – Logging in for the first time

When you open the app, you’ll see a login screen. Remember the password you set earlier? You’ll be using it to log in here.

Enter your login details,

And tap .

 

As you log in for the first time you will be given the opportunity to set up a fast login. Depending on your device, you can set up a PIN, Touch ID, or Face ID to give you quick access to the app without having to enter your username and password each time. 

Tip: If you’re sharing devices with other people, only one account can have a fast login enabled.

Set up your pin/Touch ID Access for easier login. You can choose to skip this step by tapping skip in the bottom right-hand corner.

 

 

Once completed you’ll be logged into Telstra Trades Assist and ready to start using the app.

Step 4 – Finding your way around the app

Trades Assist mobile app is designed to be used out in the field, so has lots of great info at hand to see and manage your work.  

Understanding what actions can be performed in each section of the task bar will help you get the most out of the app.

 

 

Along the bottom of the screen you’ll see the task bar icons



Calendar

 is your daily schedule and shows the jobs that you have scheduled in a calendar view. Also available in the calendar is a map that shows your daily journey by locating your scheduled jobs.

Click on the job in the calendar or click on the map icon to view the job detail. Click here to View Calendar 

 is only available on the iPad. This is where you can see everyone’s work schedule and the jobs that have been allocated to them. If you have scheduling access you can drag and drop job cards to schedule jobs to workers.

 is where you access your customers and their details. Click here to View Customers

 lists all of your quotes and jobs that require attention, are unscheduled and scheduled. Click here to View Jobs & Tasks

 lists any assets owned by you or your customers that you are tracking. Click here to View an Asset

 allows you to change your login details and sign out from the app.

In each screen, you’ll usually see a  icon in the top right corner of the screen which lets you add information. If you need to go back to a screen you will see a  or   button in the top left corner.

Let’s take a closer look at each of the features in the task bar.

 

Customers

Customers contains a list of customers that have been added to your company’s app. From this tab, you can search for your customer, edit their details and add new customers.

Customer details are an important aspect of the job cycle. If your role allows you to add customers remember the details you enter here will be used in creating a quote or job.

 

Jobs

Jobs displays all of your work including quotes and drafts and all of your completed jobs.

Depending on your role, if you are creating quotes and scheduling jobs you can use ‘Jobs’ to view all the work that has been requested by you and assigned to you.

Within Jobs, there are four tabs, Jobs, Quotes, Draft, and Completed.

  • Jobs tab: Displays any Jobs that require your attention, are unscheduled or any jobs that you have scheduled for other workers.
    If you are an Admin you can also switch between workers to display and search a list of their jobs.

 

  • Quotes tab: Lists all or your quotes that have either been sent to the customer or sent to admin for approval.  Search in quotes to see the status of each quote and to action any approved quotes. 

  • Drafts tab: depending on your role, you will see a list of quotes you have started or are redrafting.

  • Completed tab: Any completed or cancelled jobs with their status (invoiced, closed or cancelled will be listed here etc.)

Assets

If you are using Assets to track your customer’s or your own equipment they will be listed here.

These assets can be either assets installed on a customers’ premises, or assets that are owned by your business. You can access the asset detail to update meter readings or change the asset’s location.

Meter readings allow you to track the life and quality of the asset, as well as offer regular, preventative maintenance to your customers. Click here for more information 

Settings

Settings gives you easy access to your details and login details.  If you need to sign out of the app or remove your profile you can do this in Settings.  It also lists the version of the Trades Assist app you are using.  

If you haven’t set up your fast login details you can also do this here for quick access to the app every time.

 

 

Step 5 – Managing your schedule

Now that you’ve had a look around, let’s show you how to see your schedule in more detail.

At the top of the calendar are the days of the week represented in circles that show your available time.  The blue on a circle shows your booked time and your available time is listed below it.

 

  • Agenda view – Tapping  on the top menu switches the calendar to agenda mode which lists your scheduled jobs from the current day looking forward over the next 30 days.     

 

  • Seeing your jobs on the map – Tapping  on the top menu switches the calendar to the map mode. In this mode, you will be able to see your jobs on the map. You can also see basic job details by tapping on any of the pins. The details will appear at the bottom of the screen.
