Creating a Repeating Job


Repeating Jobs are work that has a repeating schedule such as preventative maintenance.

When you create a Repeating Job it automatically schedules appointments into workers’ calendars giving you better visibility to forecast work.

If the customer agreement changes, you can edit the duration and frequency of the job and these changes will be updated for all future unscheduled jobs.

This article will show you how to create a repeating job, learn how to view and edit an existing contract here.


  1. Click  from the Side Menu
  2. Click  from the expanded menu
  3. Click  in the top right-hand corner




  1. Click  from the tabs at the top
  2. Click into the search bar and search for the customer the repeating job will be created for


Tip: Click inside the search bar If the customer is new, then push the space bar once and select  or, learn how to add a new customer here.


Labour and Materials

  1. Click  from the tabs at the top
  2. Click  and search for the appropriate labour rate
  3. After choosing the labour rate, click  and type in the number of hours it will take, then click . Repeat for any additional labour types required


  1. Click  and search for the required material
  2. After selecting the material you need, click  and type in the required quantity for this material, then click . Repeat as necessary for any additional materials required.

  1. Click  and search for any checklists required for this job. Multiple checklists can be added to each job if required. 

Tip: Most jobs will require a checklist of some sort to be completed. Usually, these checklists will cover Occupational Health and Safety requirements. Learn how to create checklists here.

Tip: Scheduling within Repeating Jobs contain two sections, Job Details, and Recurring Job Details.


Job Details

  1. Click  under Job Details to name the job, and  to input the number of hours the job will take to complete.
  2. Click  and use the drop down box to choose the priority level of the job.

Recurring Job Details

Tip: Recurring Job Details contains all the data that determines how often Telstra Trades Assist will need to schedule the job, so it is important to make sure this field is filled out correctly.

  1. Use the drop-down box under  to select a Preventative Maintenance Contract to link this repeating job to. Otherwise, you can leave it as ‘No PM Contract’.

  1. Click the drop-down boxes under  and  to set how often you would like the jobs to be scheduled
  2. Click the drop-down under  to choose the next appointment that will be scheduled. As you are currently creating the repeating job, this will be the date of the first job first job.
  3. Repeat this step for  to set the date of the last job
  4. Under Auto-Schedule, you can choose to assign this repeating job to the same worker at the same time for every job that is scheduled
  5. Click  and use the drop down box to select the worker this will be scheduled for
  6. Click  to select the start time this job will be booked in for
  7. Click  and the repeating job is now complete.

Tip: scheduled under your My Business profile how far in advance repeating jobs will be created. Learn more about how to edit the timeframes for repeating jobs here.
